Snow day!

Today there was no school because it snowed! We think it was because God was so happy that North Carolina went blue that he gave everyone an excuse to stay home and watch the inauguration. Every four to five years we get just enough snow that everything shuts down (four years to the day, actually - Jan 20th, 2005, there was an inch or two, and Jan 20th, 2000, before we moved here, there was about 20!). Before you frigid Northerners laugh, let me explain - down here, there aren't enough plows for the roads, and with good reason - if we only need to plow three or four times a decade, or even once a year, it's hard to justify the expense. And secondly, there are tons of people who've moved to the area from places that get (and clear) snow, so they're used to driving in it in those conditions, although they forget how to over time and then just think they can. And then there are the natives who are afraid of the snow and never knew how to drive in it. So two groups of crazies - those who are going their usual speed and therefore sliding all over the road, and those who are barely moving and slamming on their brakes, thus also sliding all over the road. It's best to just stay inside on snow days.

Mommy and Daddy took me out to play in the two inches we got, but I didn't like it. It was cold, and it got all over my shoes, and they made me wear a scarf which I did not want to wear. We walked around the house, just enough to get some pictures.

Hopefully I will like it more next time, when I'll probably be six or seven!

Knock it over!

I'm two, so my sense of humor isn't that refined yet. One thing that always makes me laugh is knocking things over - boxes of puzzle pieces, laundry, myself - I'm not picky, as you can see here.
