Welcome! This is the blog of a little boy named Jax. I have lots of friends and family all over the place, so Mommy and Daddy decided that the best way to keep everyone updated is to keep this blog. Keep reading and checking back to see how I'm doing!
Mommy's friend Debbie had to work late one night, so her daughters Devon and Dylan came over to play while she went back in to finish an experiment. We had art time. Devon drew lots of flowers on my easel while Dylan and I warily shared crayons and markers without really acknowledging the other as a real person, as only a couple of two-year-olds can do.
Mommy lost her job in April, and the economy in NC was pretty bad, so in May we decided to move to North Dakota. While helping pack (and by helping I mean that everything Mommy put in a box I took out and played with), I came across Mommy's Freud action figure.
For Easter we visited Uncle Mark and Aunt Donna. On the drive up there, I impressed Mommy and Daddy by saying my first complete sentence - "I like to move it move it," which I learned from my classmate Jessiah. Please keep in mind, however, that I like to move it move it, not you. And if I'm to be believed, 'Siah no longer likes to move it move it anymore. Just me.
We went to Reston Zoo with my cousins Chris and Tabatha.
I got to feed some goats, as well as pretend to be a lamb.
I had the opportunity to pet a baby alligator.Chris and I had fun on the carousel as well as looking at the animals and playing in the sandbox.
Even more fun was the "train" ride. I've expanded trains to include trams and wagons pulled by tractors, and no one has of yet disavowed me of this, probably because I would start tantrumming if they did. On this train we rode around and looked at animals who could come right up to the side. The ostrich did, and he attacked Daddy! He pecked at his shirt a couple times. Daddy was mad and startled, especially because the zoo lady said that the animals wouldn't hurt anyone. Daddy was okay, fortunately.
By the end of our trip, I was very sad that I had to leave (and not crying because I was cranky and someone other than Mommy or Daddy was holding me).
Yeah, I know this was awhile ago. I'm going to try to get caught up with all the things I should've been posting over the last few months.
First one - Easter egg hunt for all my little friends, like we did last year. The hunt was a lot easier this year because I'm such a big boy now. Here are some pictures: Even more fun than finding eggs (we found 12 dozen in about 10 minutes!) was playing on my slide. We were surprisingly good at taking turns, considering we're all just a bunch of toddlers and preschoolers.
Here's my take on the whole Easter egg hunt thing:
